As grief continues to unfold following the sudden death of Karunanidhi, controversy erupts as the state government denies DMK’s demand for giving space for a decent burial of the deceased at the renowned Marina Beach. Violence broke out outside the Kauvery Hospital after such news was disclosed to the public. A special hearing sought at the high court is to be heard on the 8th of August. The central government, has, however; decided to accord an iconic state funeral to M. Karunanidhi where the National flag will fly at half-mast on Wednesday in all the state capitals and across the Tamil Nadu as a mark of respect and decent send off to the late Chief Minister.
